courbet reclining nude

Reclining Nude 1819-1877
Oil on Canvass 29 ½ x 37 ¼
(75 x 95 cm)
Gustave Courbet

Reveals a woman reclining with her stockings on . His rendering of things, shadows and lights, forms and colors imbibes serene settings .He performs it with somewhat cold elegance and yet so well balanced .so timelessly but within time. The fine brush work and his magnifying glass vision so delicate but creates calmness.

The woman exudes profound sensuality. Courbet as usual undeniably never uses color excessively because it can abolish the sincerity of the painting. He chooses His subject with his soul that he was capable of moving even the humble folks.

Reclining Nude is neither absurd nor so negligible but it exudes sufficient
Character. The woman’s body was luminous .It signifies superior sensuality if not forceful. Courbet’s executions were honest and beautiful.

Lights fall in the proper place, solemn but passionate. He was so realistic with his color, so exquisite and profoundly luminous. Courbet’s adoration for feminine grace and bright elegance always inspired Him to produce a Masterpiece.
