the sky has drawn a night so starry
where angels watch upon the beauty
a beauty found where darkness sadly
binds the land of milk and honey
the lightning and the thunder, hear the roar
the eyes and ears, they ask for more
destroy the land of sin and death
and burn the sinners to the core
"forevermore" said the lovers
"give thy bounty" said the pastors
"kill them all" said the fathers,
dogs, and beasts, and shadow patterns!
send those people to the world
where ravens cry, where summer's cold
where wonderful stories can never be told
where darkest souls cannot be absolved
